So much going on in February, we thought we’d share all of the details in one simple post. Pensacon, Mardi Gras, Valentines Day, Super Bowl … Perfect Plain has you covered.
Here’s the lowdown:
THURSDAY: Perfect Pensacon Release Day
We debut our Perfect Pensacon Belgian Dubbel, the first ever official seasonal beer of Pensacon, starting at 6 p.m. That’s when we will open PPBC to the public as well. Our Founder’s Club members will get to try it first at 4 p.m. It’s a classic Belgain Dubbel – we picked a Dubbel thanks to our two-team partnership with Pensacon – brewed with eight different malts and Belgain candi sugar. It smells like a myriad of raisins, dates, and figs and is finised with a Trappist yeast strain for all of those delicious Belgain esters. Full Details Here.
Crowlers: On Feb. 1 only, we will be selling specially discounted ($12 after tax) 32 oz crowler cans for you to bring back to your friends (for offsite consumption ONLY).
FRIDAY: Mardi Gras Beer
PPBC is releasing Pensacola’s first-ever official Mardi Gras craft beer, and your krewe could have the honor of giving it a name. We present our 2018 Mardi Gras Beer Release Party from 5-8 p.m. Full Details Here.
We will take name submissions throughout the party on Friday, and we will announce finalists on Saturday and pick a winner by Monday. The winner will get a free keg of beer for their party or parade float. We will give a gift card for second place. Name submissions are free of charge. We will have food trucks on site throughout the party.
We’re keeping our beer ingredients a bit of a secret until Friday. Stay tuned. We will also have a special Mardi Gras themed drink special for one day only.
Crowlers: Because it’s high season for Mardi Gras festivities, we will also be doing special crowler pricing ($12) from now through Fat Tuesday on our Mardi Gras beer. You can be the first to pick up cans on Friday.
SUNDAY: Super Bowl Party
Come watch the game with us for a good cause. Every beer you buy will have the chance to give back to two local charities. When you buy a beer, you’ll get a ticket. Depending on who you’re cheering for, you can drop it in the Eagles or Patriots buckets.
If the Patriots win, we will donate to our patriots, the women’s veterans program at Pathways for Change. If the Eagles win, our donation will go to help the birds at the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida, Inc.
We will have plenty of food available as our friend Cook from Cook’s Soulfood BBQ roasts a whole hog our front and Two Birds Street Food brings his own Super Bowl menu to our guests.
We will also have a special Super Bowl themed one-day-only drink special.
UPCOMING: Mark your calendars for these dates:
Feb. 9-10 – Friday night and Saturday (2 p.m.) Mardi Gras Parades
Sunday, Feb. 11 – Craft night at PPBC! Make your Valentine something special!
Wednesday, Feb. 14 – A nationally touring band will be playing at Perfect Plain, free admission, to help raise money for Studer Community Institute. Stay tuned.
When do we open?
We open at 6 p.m. on Thursday (a later opening than normal due to a VIP Pensacon event beforehand), Noon on Friday, 11 a.m. on Saturday and Noon on Sunday. For the week of February 5, we will be back to our normal operating hours (4-10 p.m. Mon.-Wed; 4-midnight Thursday, Noon-Midnight Friday, 11 a.m.-Midnight Saturday, Noon-10 p.m. Sunday)
Will there be food?
Yes, we will have food trucks available throughout all of our events this week. During the Super Bowl we will have a BBQ pig roast as well as Two Birds Street Food.
Can you bring kids?
PPBC welcomes families as part of our mission to create great experiences for our customers. Our staff loves bringing their kids in on off nights. However, we typically have large crowds on special events and weekends, so we typically suggest bringing the little ones in earlier during the day.
How about crowlers/growlers?
Yes. We will have our crowler machine up and running. We actually will have special pricing on our Perfect Pensacon Belgian Dubbel and Mardi Gras crowlers at $12 each for 32 ounces. However, they are for offsite consumption only.
Will we be open during the parades next week (Feb. 9-10).
Yes. And we will continue our crowler specials then so you can grab a can of our Mardi Gras beer and take it to the parade route a 1/2 block away.
