On July 23, 1821, Rachel Jackson wrote to her friend in Nashville, Elizabeth Kingsley, about the beauty she discovered in Pensacola. Her description, which began with “Pensacola is a Perfect Plain…” is what inspired our name.

On July 23, 2018, PPBC will begin a new tradition: A week-long celebration of beer in honor of the letter. Running from July 23-29, Perfect Plain will release a new beer every single day. This year, the Pensacola Beer Week beer releases are inspired by what Rachel saw when she arrived.

“Pensacola is a Perfect Plain,” she wrote. “The land nearly as white as flour but productive of fine peaches, oranges in abundance, grapes, figs, pomegranates, etc.”

Join us in our taproom to continue our celebration honoring our city, our culture, and our beer.
